Expected results
By 2017, PPI4Waste will:
- Create a critical mass of procurers purchasing eco-innovative waste solutions
- Create new markets in the area of resource efficiency in the short and medium term
- Leverage additional investment in research and innovation
- Make a demonstrable contribution to public sector innovation and increased mobilisation of SMEs and industrial partners
- Move from product purchase to service delivery
How will this be done?
PPI4Waste will achieve these aims through a series of events and publications to inform and inspire. These include:
- 1 Procurement foresight workshop to help public procurers scope their needs and identify emerging solutions
- 4 Meet-the-market events (in BE, ES, HR and NL) to provide an opportunity for discussion between procurers and suppliers, allowing them to better understand each others needs.
- 1 Transnational state-of-the-art workshop to facilitate exchange between public procurers, waste experts, manufacturers and suppliers.
- 4 Training sessions to increase knowledge of PPI procedures
- 1 International conference to present major outcomes and lessons learned from PPI4Waste
A number of reports will be published on key areas of innovative waste management. These include:
- A State of the Art Report on emerging solutions
- Report on capitalization and collaboration with related European initiatives
- Consolidated report of lessons of PPI4Waste for contracting authorities
